Activity Details

• CHEMENG IDOL Begins: Discover the Chemical Engineering program (both Regular and International tracks). Learn about the U-CHEPS project and explore future career paths.
• Secret Training Program: Get hands-on with Aspen, the must-have software tool for every CHEMENG IDOL. Watch demonstrations on data setup, running simulations, and analyzing results.
• Extract the Power of Sound: Experiment with separating water and oil using a separatory funnel. Observe immiscible layers and understand the principle of liquid-liquid extraction.
• Distillation of Charms: Try distilling liquids with different boiling points using ethanol mixed with color. Watch it evaporate and condense back into a clear liquid, grasp the basics of distillation, separation and controlling distillation rates.
• Filtering the Heart: Learn how to separate mixtures with sieves and filter paper. This activity demonstrates particle size separation, filtration and the use of different filtering tools.
• Magic Combo Lab: Perform titration to measure vitamin C in fruit juice. Enjoy the color changing reaction, calculate concentrations, and uncover the nutritional secrets of juice samples.
• Bonding Hearts with Members: A fun and relaxing activity station with light recreation, casual chats with seniors, and a chance to share your feelings and impressions about the department.
